OUR HERITAGE.

First of, the Godfather of our society, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and his being the first appearance is by no accident. Mr space might have been the first african to engage in space related ventures but Chief Obasanjo as he is popularly called has always shown great interest in the advancement of the nation and felt it a necessity for Nigeria and by extension Africa has a say in all things space. To further this cause, he founded the great institution that is our university and had a hand in opening the Nigerian Space Center.

He has received numerous awards and commendations throughout his illustrious career and has inspired so many African and Nigerian youths just as he has done for us.

The grandfather of our society,Prof. E. E Balogun. Prof. E. E Balogun was the former Executive Director, Africa Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education - English and was (and still is) one of the pioneers and advocates for space related activities in Nigeria.

Professor Balogun is an highly intelligent man who went from a bachelor degree holder to a professor in just six years! He was the Research coordinator of The African Space Science Center and the Director of  The Ecology and Enironmental Studies Institute.

He has received numerous awards including A Prize from WMO Geneva and a Letter of commendation from a United States Agency among several others and was one of those who inspired Mr. Space to develop and active interest in the exploration of space and development of Africa.

Professor Akeem Rabiu Babatunde is the Executive Director at the Center For Atmospheric Research of the National Space Research and Development Agency and was named the young scientist of the year 2000 by the Third World academy of Science in italy in collaboration with the Nigerian Academy of Science.

He is a renowned Space Physicist with passion for observational facilities in Africa and has gone around sharing his knowledge to various African Universities. He is currently the coordinator of the International Space Weather Initiative and has supervised on the international committee of the UN/NASA global co-operation bringing about advancement.

Meet Mr.Space, the first African to bring about space advancement in Africa. He has accomplished things too many to mention receiving international accolades and getting numerous certifications, many the first of their kind in Africa. He felt the need to nurture the next generation and has brought the Space Tourism Society to Africa while negotiating with International organizations to give us the best.

One of his more recent achievements is his collaboration on the recent manned flight to the International Space Station or as you may know it; Launch America.

With such a rich history, you no doubt feel blessed to be part of this society and any doubts you might have had has undoubtedly vanished.
